General Management provides current managers and beginners tools, skills and general knowledges and instruments for understanding the core concepts of management theory and its successful implementation for result-oriented management. This course features lectures about defining your own style in management, effective internal and external communication, motivation, social competences, team development, best practices and recent trends. All the disciplines incorporate analysis of the real cases and experiences of top-executives. Students will explore the disciplines using discussions with peers and professors, collaborations, personal and team projects.
Modules
  • Module 1. General Management
    We will speak about key concepts in general management that enable you to understand your position and managerial responsibility as well as to find an appropriate management style that will correspond with your personal positioning.

    The module will cover the latest trends and information in management, key managerial decisions and result-oriented management. We will also cover best practices of top-managers.
  • Module 2. Leadership & Motivation
    The second module will cover understanding of your own leadership qualities in a result-oriented way, the elements of social competency and team-development. You will learn how to motivate employees long-term and communicate both internally and externally.
  • Module 3. Strategic Management
    In the module of Strategic Management we will speak about the concepts of strategy, profitable growth, making minimal, but correct changes and creating structures. The other part of module will cover strategies for cost leadership, specialization, differentiation and niche strategies.

    We will discover relationship of strategy, structure and processes that will help you successfully implementing your strategies.
  • Module 4. Marketing Management
    This module will cover the following topics: customer value in light of new technologies and social media, how does branding have to be carried out and what does «integrated communications» mean.
  • Module 5. New Business Development & Risk Management
    We will discuss new business models, formulate future-oriented strategies together, growth and profit drivers, business development, increased risk during times of high fluctuation, risk evaluation and financial flexibility of companies.

    We will also learn quick reactions to change and implementing controlling tools.
  • Module 6. Managing Innovation, Information Technology, Digital Business and the Internet
    The last module contains understanding how digitalization influences firms' business models, their competitive advantage, the industry structure, foundational institutions upon which industries operate, discovering key aspects of multi-sided businesses and platforms.

    You will learn how to analyze or design a multi-sided business and figure out how some of the recent technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence could lead to foundational transformations ofde how firms operate in the future.

Requirements for applicants
1. Proven business executives who hold leadership positions one or two levels from the CEO in large organizations and have been identified as central to the company's succession plan—including members of executive committees, heads of major business units, senior heads of functions, and senior members of the operating group
2. Executives who hold C-suite level positions at midsize companies with significant growth opportunities.

3. Particularly appropriate for senior executives with at least 20 years of work experience, including significant time as a senior executive or company officer.
